Nice machine at an even better price. I don't need the latest processor, so this would be the perfect laptop for me.

However, I am hesitant to buy it because of the infamous Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 hinge issue. I couldn't find anything online about whether the 16" (newer release) has the same problem as others.

Considering that, I'm out. Too bad, because I like the price and config.

I bought a Flex for my little brother 2 years ago and recently another for my wife both for school and on paper they're good laptops but there's just always crap that breaks. My brother's version had the mousepad stop multiple times and my wife's touchscreen turns off randomly. Googling the problem finds many other people also affected with no real solutions. I don't recommend these at all.

Bought 2 about 4 years ago - hinge issue on one, display issue on another, both within a year. I'm ok with Lenovo, but maybe not the Flex
