Can't speak to the seller, but the deal seems pretty solid. Sub $1000 with these specs is pretty good comparative to a lot of the other deals being posted right now, with a 1 year limited warranty to boot. Could be a good laptop to hold onto as we wait and see what next week has to give.

How's the build quality on these? Any gripes or issues with them?

seems like screen may not get very bright? and or colors may not be completely accurate?

$20 more at Costco for the 15" (vs.17" here), but may be the safer place to buy (+1yr addl warranty from Costco)

The Katana line has less bells and whistles of the Raider line for example, but MSI as a whole is good to go.

Just a heads-up!

MSI Laptop Power supplies are only warranted for 6 months irrespective of the Laptop warranty length.
Laptops purchased in North America receive warranty support only in North America except if we buy an additional international warranty.

I learnt it the hard way when I was traveling overseas.

I bought a 15.6 inch last year with great specs for a great price ($800 for an I7 11th gen and RTX3060). I ingored all the warnings about the hinges because I planned to use it as a desktop replacement. Computer works great but hinges snapped last month after very, very gentle use. The plastic is the cheapest I've seen on a laptop. Still works for what I use it for but I would not advise anyone to buy this as a normal laptop.
