32GB 7 gets more than 64GB SE 2 ($230), that makes sense...

They have a huge stockpile full of iphone SE 2 phones from all the past apple trade-in deals. There were so many people who bought up tons of iphone SE 2 phones with those apple deals. I traded in my iphone SE 2 for the deal with first deal with the bonus google pixel buds.

Google is doing these Apple trade-in deals in getting people to switch over to android.
Right, but the SE is newer, faster and better in every way in the same form factor. Just odd.

Best buy was taking broken phones that didn't power on for the Pixel 7. How can they tell if it's icloud locked if it won't power on?

On the preorder I already traded in my old p3a for a 6a & some buds BUT they are offering ~$250 for my useless locked bootloader Samsung S10. $valuewise it makes sense to get it but it offers zero (or even negative) excitement. Kinda a waste of time move. Hmm, lemme see if it gets a decent trade in value for a Pixel 7. Maybe I'll get one of those & it can share the role of backup phone w/ the P6a.

I feel like the Samsung S10 is like a hot potato. I can't imagine it having a decent trade in value for mych longer.

*edit* - hmm, they give me a ~$300 trade in value on the S10 fot a p7. Still I do think I'll just see if the S10 is worth anything next year. I'm pretty sure they'll do more trade-ins on future pixel phones.

Darn, wish I had kept that old iPhone 7 instead of selling for $100. I need to upgrade my Moto G6.

Nice find!
FYI, you can likely find a working iPhone 7, or iPhone 8, for around $40-$60 on eBay, Mercari or OfferUp, then, use that as a trade-in towards the Pixel 6a or the Pixel 7.

You can also get around $410 trade-in credit with an iPhone XR or XS, towards a Pixel 7, which is currently on sale for $100 less than the usual price, making it available for $499 right now.

I actually just bought a used (128GB) iPhone 7 last week, from eBay, that arrived today. And after looking at my Purchase History, it shows that I paid $37 total for it, with shipping and taxes (the guy accepted my $25 'Best Offer').
I also bought a used (64GB) iPhone 8 last week, from eBay, that is on its way, and I paid $54 total for it.

I plan on trading in the iPhone 7 towards a Pixel 6a (which will get $248 towards the current $299 price).
And I plan on trading in the iPhone 8 towards a Pixel 7 (which will get $292 towards the current $499 price).

So, if you're looking to upgrade and you'd like to get yourself a Pixel 6a, or a Pixel 7, right now would be a good time to do so. The Google Store Black Friday sale is going now, through November 28th. So, there are still some great deals available, and you have a week left, to buy a Pixel at these discounted prices.

How soon after you order would you have to trade in the phone? That is, if I order a used iPhone off eBay and it takes likely till early Dec to receive due to holidays, does anyone know if that would be fine or is there a short trade in window? Couldn't find anything about it in the thread.

Thanks

Can I trade in a phone that hasn't been fully paid off? It's an iPhone 12 Red 64gb but the screen has deep scratches on it, no cracks though. Obviously submitting it as it's in not good condition.. but it's carrier locked due to not being paid off
That sounds like a scam...

I pay for the phone monthly but it has deep scratches and it works just fine otherwise. I don't understand how it's a scam if I use their trade in tool and explicitly state it's condition is not good but it boots and works fine.

I'm asking if Google will accept the device even though I will be paying the phone off for another 2 months.

It's carrier locked to ATT as they don't allow you unlock the device and use it on another carrier until it is paid off. Once it's paid off you can unlock it. This shouldn't have any effect on the trade in, correct?

Will they accept a busted screen? Like glass shattered and pieces missing but turns on and works.

It's definitely realistic that they will accept it, with a broken, shattered screen, even if some of the glass is missing; but, it's not guaranteed. However, lots of people have actually sent in phones that had broken or cracked screens, and ended up getting the full trade-in price.

I would say, if you are going to send in a phone that has a busted screen, you should try to put a screen protector on it, to help keep the screen intact; so that it doesn't get any worse, and so that it might not look as bad as it would, without a screen protector on. It just seems like the people, who inspect the phones, would probably be more likely to accept the phone as a trade-in, if it has a screen protector on it. Plus, that way, it's easier for them to actually test the screen and make sure that it responds to touch and that the phone power is on and functions.

Be aware that you lose unlimited Google photos backup if you trade a Pixel 4 or 4XL for a pixel 6.

I have a 4XL that I bought the day they launched and it is still very fast and works well. However, I typically don't run a ton of data mining hungry social media apps.
