Been waiting YEARS for a wired z-wave version.
If looking for more than 1, they are on sale at Costco too. 3 for $80.

Yea. This is disappointing. What happened to Nest. Google ruined it. They were once cutting edge. Where's the Gen 3 wired nest protect that adds some unique high end features.

They won't make it.
They want you to have to buy all z-wave. If you have 1 unit that is wired with z-wave, then you only need that 1 unit.

Only solution is to get a z-wave stand alone sensor.

So if I put six of these in my house, will they be "linked" to one another.... meeting code of if 1 alarms, they all go off.

I have these and would not recommend them unless don't mind changing the AA batteries in them every 6 months.

And once the batteries are low it chirps every 5 minutes.

With these out with 10 year batteries, I have no idea why anyone would buy something you need to constantly change the batteries on.

I had gen ones paired with Smartthings to turn all my lights on.
After installing the Ring, I moved the detectors to it. I forgot about the lights until now.

Can I pair the detectors to both Ring and Smartthings?

Any good deals on dumb (not smart enabled) fire / carbon monoxide monitors? Don't need the fancy stuff, just something that works. TIA

I had a bunch of these and returned them to Costco after too many false alarms. At one point the fire department was standing under the alarm talking to me on the phone and it went off. It was funny, since I was on the phone with the fire department, Ring couldn't get a hold of me and dispatched them to my house where they already were. Do not recommend

I thought CO detectors should be placed low, as it is heavier than air, while smoke detectors up high, as smoke rises? While I like the idea of a combined sensor, it would seem to not provide the best CO detection if placed on the ceiling.

Is there a wired version?
I think their plan was to release it in June 2020 then COVID scrapped that plan.

Depending where you live, code may require to have 10 year battery version smoke detectors. Odds are one will say anything unless you are looking to remodel and have a very observant inspector or are selling your house and it is flagged on inspection.

The description says it comes with a hardwire adapter, so you should be able to use it for battery only or hardwire with battery backup
