Google Store has the Pixel 6a as an even trade for the Pixel 5a (you only have to pay taxes). At only $21.88 oiut of pocket this is a no-brainer for me, as the 5a has known issues with the display (mine required a motherboard replacement).

Trade-in values for other Pixels were also good- for example
Pixel 3 i@ $197
Pixel 4 @ $245.

As always, YMMV since trade-in values can (and do) change often.

Subtotal $449.00
Total savings today-$150.00
Shipping Free
Estimated tax $21.68
Estimated total $320.68
Estimated trade-in value-$299.00
Total after trade-in $21.68

I have the Pixel 5a and love its rear fingerprint unlock. I do not like the in-screen fingerprint option and will not trade the 5a for whatever this has to offer
A few more trade values (with base RAM):

Pixel 5 $299
Pixel 4 $245
Pixel 4XL $235
Pixel 4a or 4a 5G $250
Pixel 3a $200
Pixel 3 $197
I haven't had any issues with my 6a. I came from the 3a. the finger print reader on the 6a takes just under half a second for me, and accuracy is good (although I enrolled the same thumb twice because my aim is bad when trying to hit the reader). the 3a was instant for finger print reads. but less than half a second delay doesn't bug me.

Wondering if I should trade in my unused 5a for a new 6a for the increased resale value or if it's worth the effort.

That exactly is the reason I hesitate to trade in 5a for 6a. But my 5a really has bad signals while all iphones around me have no problem getting the signal. Reviews say 6a also have signal problems. Anyone with that experience ?Thanks

Same here. using it for almost a year no issue. not worth to switch to 6a with all its issues.
My 5a is noticeably slow, giving me all the incentives to upgrade to a 6a or even 7. Have you experienced any sluggish in phone responding for your 5a?

I have the same issue. My 5a died last Friday. I spoke to Google CS and they said you have 30 days from receiving your trade in device box. I haven't received that yet. I'm still waiting to send in my 5a.

Mine died Thanksgiving morning, 1 day out of warranty. They had me bring it to ubreakifix to see if it was the known display issue (https://support.google.com/pixelp...3075?hl=en) but it was the mainboard for my phone.

I'll have to try support again to see if they'll honor the warranty still and how long it would take to get back to see if this 6a deal is an option.

Here's my post from earlier in this thread that explains what I did:

My 5a has not been repaired yet. I confirmed with a Google CS that it must be repaired first and then sent back to them to get the trade in discount ($300).

Here's what I did: Friday 1 AM, phone dies and it's bricked. My warranty expired last August. In the morning, I contact Google customer support (chat): https://store.google.com/magazine...r?hl=en-US. CS confirms that my phone is out of warranty and I tell them that many others have similar issues as me and if they can grant me a warranty extension. This CS rep does. They tell me that I can go to a ubreakifix store to get my phone fixed if it's covered by the Google warranty. I go to the store and they do a diagnostic and tell me it's a motherboard issue but that I'm out of warranty and I have to pay $400. ubreakifx supposedly tells Google that my phone (using my IMEI #) has a defective motherboard. I don't pay and come home and speak to another Google CS and they claim that ubreakifix didn't tell them anything about my IMEI but that I should ship my 5a to Google as it is under the extended warranty. I fill out a form and have them send me a box to return my phone. In order to get my $300 trade in, CS tells me I have 30 days to return the 5a starting from the day that my trade in box arrives. Before I end the chat, I ask CS to email me confirmation that I am receiving an extended warranty (I think this is critical to ask them so that you have some documentation via email, but won't apply to you since you still have an active warranty). I am waiting for the warranty box to arrive so I can have my 5a fixed.

As of today, my Pixel 6a is still coming to me and I have no news on the trade in box.

I have my Pixel 6a now in hand but do not have the kit to return my Pixel 5a. I am going to ask Google again to skip the return kit and see if I can just ship them my 5a in the shipping box that came with the 6a.

Same here. Phone died two weeks ago. I need to get it fixed under warranty and sent back.

But that's 3 of us in the page alone that have motherboard issues. So they know what's up.

I upgraded, but again, have to through the whole process of getting it fixed, returned and seeing a confirmed credit including the superfan code.

It's going to be a long couple weeks at least.

I am in a position where, personally, I don't think I have much of a choice. My pixel 5a is dead. We all know now that the 5a has motherboard issues so if Google does fix my pixel for free, I still don't want to use it because it may die again soon. I have an iPhone for work and I don't like it. Previously, I had a Samsung Galaxy and I didn't like that. I only like the Pixel to be honest. So even if Google decides not to fix my 5a and I have to pay the $300 + tax for the Pixel 6a, for me, that's the best option.

Sucks!

Are you guys selecting "accept new trade-in value after inspection" or "send the phone back"?

The Trade-in Value for the 5a is now $350 and so I went ahead to get the Pixel 7 for $150 + tax out of pocket. My main reason is because of the overheating issue with my 5a especially when doing video recording for a longer period. Also, to move away from the "a" series, for a much better trade-in value in the future.

Does anyone know how long it takes to see the $100 credit in the Google Store if I used a Superfans code? Thanks. (Mods: not a request or offer!)

I've heard a lot of people say it's not worth going from a 5a to a 6a due to issues. Thoughts? How about from a 5a to a 7?

Also, anyone have codes? Would be appreciated.
