I also see no reason to spend $40 more for the Pro's. It seems like you get 2 more hours of battery life in exchange for worse water proofing.

Yeah, I was gonna go pro but a lot of reviewers say the difference is minimal between 9th and 8th gen tech: just a little more bass and doesn't sound as flat. And it comes with a hard case.
The trade-off for a little more bass just didn't seem like it's worth it to me either. Ended up going with the OpenRun for the better IPX rating and $40 cheaper price tag.
There is no mini pro version AFAIK.... It's either Regular, Mini, or Pro...

I've used an older "Aftershock" model for a couple of years, despite its limited dynamic range. My ears get ischemic pain from in-ear devices, so I'm happy to use bone conducting headphones despite their limitations.

The pros do get more bass. But also more muddy on the trebles like vocals
I dont buy bone conduction for sound quality. I buy it for convenience and ability for all day wear w surrounding awareness.
Im not upgrading or buying the pros. The open runs are exactly what i want to fit my needs and expectations.
When I actually want good quality sounding headphones for music, I'll just switch headphones. No big deal.
