Yes. This works as a giant power bank. You can power appliances and electronics up to 500W. Not enough power for refrigerator, but more then enough for basic electronics.

Yes. Although they use the term "generator," it's a battery, so it stores rather than generates electricity. No CO2 or CO combustion gases that are associated with gas/diesel/propane generators. This battery would probably last a long time powering a router and modem in case of a power outage. An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) might be less expensive, and is designed for your use case, but might not last as long as this.
