For PC, VMWare Workstation 17 Pro is really the best. Used VMWare Pro for a decade and it is amazing. Upgraded to v17 just because of this price.

For Mac, Parallels is still the best but VMWare is also a good option

Different type of hypervisor type 1 vs type 2. Though the current version of VMware takes advantage of Hyper V also VMware is more feature rich. Hyper v is not available in all windows Versions... Honestly though get out of the windows ecosystem to Linux you will have a better experience for much less and more choices... Arch runs better on surface much better than windows go figure!! Then you can install windows in Virtual Box Smilie

Wonder how long this sale will be? I'm on the fence if I need it over my current v16. Looks like it will handle Windows 11 which I don't care about that today, but will I want W11 support before 2023 Black Friday?
Hmmm.

FYI VMWare Player remains free for non-commercial use.

Historically it runs through Cyber-Monday, as far as I can tell there are no stated dates.

Take a good look at Player vs Pro [vmware.com], if you don't need anything in the Pro column, Player is free for non commercial use.

I use it to connect to vsphere (Free) that I have installed on an old Mac Mini. I think the convenience is worth it, but everyone spends their money differently.

Have you try installing macOS Ventura as guest OS on Workstation 17 Pro yet!? I'm running Workstation 16 Pro with macOS Monterey and I'm very very impress how good it's running! Hopefully they support Ventura in Workstation 17 Pro soon if not already then I'll make a jump to it as well!

This may sound ridiculous but the one feature I like most from Workstation Pro is the ability to pause VMs. That way I can reduce a VM's CPU load on the system to zero when I'm not using it but can resume it immediately when needed.
