Dang... disc golf went and got all highfalutin since last I played...
20 years ago I was a several-times-a week player at one of the 5ish area courses we had then. I used 2 discs. Occasionally you'd see someone with 3 or 4.
Fast forward. I just recently started playing again here and there. I still use the same 2 discs. The look of distain from people toting around packs like this is real. It's like walking into a black tie event wearing a cut off shirt ๐

You only NEED two. A driver and a putter. There is a third that comes in handy for midrange or approach shots. As you start playing more you might try some new drivers that fit your arm speed better. You still bring the old drivers so you can take a few extra practice drives off the tee box. Maybe you want one that is mid range and doesn't go terribly far, but you know it's going to go straight (looking at you trees). Then you might think about getting into rolling for a hole that has a lot of tree coverage. Next you start looking at your putter and wishing it was a little softer/harder so you could stick to those chains. It's always nice to have a couple putters so you can practice without walking back and forth to the basket. Fast forward 2 years and you're on Slickdeals looking at backpacks that can hold 20-30 discs.
