Dynamic Discs has smaller size bags available too (see https://gottagogottathrow.com/col...-golf-bags for a variety of options). The Axiom (linked) and similar bags from other manufacturers are good first-time backpacks for relatively new players or others who don't need/want to carry more than 12-15 discs. This "Combat Ranger" deal is a great price for those who have found the need to carry 20+ discs and want the extra storage/pockets that this class of bag offers.

I'm sticking with my Grip Eq. AX5, but I'll always appreciate a good disc golf deal here.

Oh I don't mean to knock this deal at all. I'm happy with my Axiom bag and I'm still tempted to snag one of these. Haha But I just don't get to play enough to justify it. Having 3 kids does that. ๐Ÿ˜‚

These look so nice, how good are they when used as an everyday back pack
These are specially designed to carry disc golf discs (and accessories). It could be used as an "everyday backpack" I suppose, but it would be bulky and there are definitely better general-use backpack options out there.

Any deals on a set of disks?
Most major disc golf retailers are running sales this week. As for this site "G3T", it looks like they have a lightweight (<160g) Prodigy Ace Line starter set for $10 (https://gottagogottathrow.com/col...c-golf-set ) That's probably the cheapest available for 3 quality plastic discs.

I use the cheap generic canvas diaper bag sent home from the hospital with the baby. It's lasted a few years so far but technically it cost way way more than this bag. Status!

I hear you and was just wanting to add some context for the many readers less familiar with the sport. My three kiddos are now teens and demand less of my time, so I can finally carve out time for solo play or mini-tournaments a few days a week while still fitting in their activities. I tried to get them into disc golf, but none have caught the enthusiasm for it (yet). Smilie

This seems like a sport I can get into. Why would someone carry 20 discs? is it like different weights for different wind conditions or something? Or do people regularly lose discs in trees and lakes or something and need to carry a bunch?

Discs fly very different depending on your arm speed, spin, release angle, etc. Once you get to a certain skill level, you'll start throwing specific discs to achieve certain flight paths and distances. But you can really spend as much or as little money on disc golf as you want. Some folks love carrying 20+ discs and having the latest and greatest, while others will just bag a few different molds and really learn to manipulate their shot.

It's a great game. There's nothing like spending a couple hours in the woods drinking beers with friends trying to improve your game. But also can be just as enjoyable playing by yourself after work and bringing the pup along for some exercise. Search for recommendations on beginner's discs and give it a shot!

Appreciate the info.

Two sets with shipping is ~$28, any thoughts on quality of that vs this for $34 (extra marker disk and bag): https://a.co/d/7HeY5Qo

You only NEED two. A driver and a putter. There is a third that comes in handy for midrange or approach shots. As you start playing more you might try some new drivers that fit your arm speed better. You still bring the old drivers so you can take a few extra practice drives off the tee box. Maybe you want one that is mid range and doesn't go terribly far, but you know it's going to go straight (looking at you trees). Then you might think about getting into rolling for a hole that has a lot of tree coverage. Next you start looking at your putter and wishing it was a little softer/harder so you could stick to those chains. It's always nice to have a couple putters so you can practice without walking back and forth to the basket. Fast forward 2 years and you're on Slickdeals looking at backpacks that can hold 20-30 discs.

James gets it! I was keen on it not so much for the 20+ disc capacity, but the extra storage compartment for my jacket and a son's sweatshirt that I end up carrying after the first few holes.

Wow this is really high for a bag; I like nicer stuff but wouldn't drop this much on a bag ever (hell, any square bag or soft side cooler will work). Plenty of NICE options for under 40 bones. I do have a lot of discs I acquired over the years, so I get having more than 2 on the course - sometimes you want to throw a Mulligan, or you lose one in the trees or creek (this happens a lot in my area). I suggest 3 (driver mid and putter) with a few extra drivers and a mid; I use the same 3 most of the time though...
