In for two. My Asus monitor sits too low on my desk and lacks a VESA mount. I also could use one for my small laser printer that has no tray so I can store paper underneath it rather than taking up space in a drawer.

Thanks, that's what I figured that would be too flimsy. I half considered using an upside down milk crate with a cut black tablecloth to conceal it, but that may also ruin the sound harmonics as you described.
