Which of these is the best option for a newbie?
Buy it at a local B&M. I bought a V2 and it bricked. Had to returned. Got a S1 now and it's a lot easier to assemble and use.

How is the "Creality Ender 3 Pro 3D" here at MicroCenter compared to these? $199 currently.

I'm hoping that it's the Ender 3 v2 NEO, because that's what I'm aiming at.
Ender 3 V2 Neo I strongly recommend

Has best price to quality ratio. People often look at size but when they get size + cheapness and complain about bad prints.. well, you get what you pay for. the V2 Neo is smaller but better quality and much nicer auto features which is nice even for advanced users.. the auto feature itself cost $60 on Amazon as an add on.. so these features aren't cheap yet are in this cheap printer.

S1 with PEI plate sold out? Can't find it via search and the link takes you to the non plate one.
You can buy a PEI bed from Amazon for around $20.

I am in the market for an intro 3dp and have been researching. I have a friend that has a Ender 3 and he likes it. I am really considering the E3v2 Neo but ran in to a YT video from the 3d Printing Professor that kinda turned me off to Creality. He suggested the Kingroon Kp3s at a similar price. He has a comprehensive spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadshe...d=65564132 on his reviews, ranked. (all price ranges). I think these are good prices for creality. Anyone know more about the Kingroon as a comparison?

Ender 3 Pro was a royal pain. Constant tweaking and upgrading. Out of all Ender 2 Pro if you're broke and Ender S1 Pro if you have a bigger budget as they seem to have decent reviews.

If I had the money, I'd probably buy a Prusa MK3S. But those are like 850 as a kit shipped.

The Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro seems like a steal at $230. The specs look like they're somewhere between an S1 and S1 Pro.
Interesting. I've been surprised at how little setup it took to get great and consistent results from the ender 3 pro I picked up for $100 last year from microcenter. Def needs a fair amount of re-"leveling", but I'm hopeful the $5 replacement springs I just ordered will help with that.

I have the 3 S1 regular, and I can't solve the ringing/ghosting problem.

The Ender 3 series would be the best if you don't mind tinkering. They're the most popular printer of all time, and have a huge community with plenty of printable upgrades. The S1 if you want one that you'll have to tinker with less. Just know that 3d printers aren't something that you'll have setup and printing perfectly in 5 minutes. They all require tinkering to some degree to get dialed in. The $1,000+ printers are closer to being dialed in from the factory, though. The new Bambu Lab printer is the closest thing on the market to not needing any tinkering, but it's $1,000+.

For anyone who wants to know whether these are good for beginners:

My first and presently only 3D printer is an original ender 3. Had it since 2020. You WILL need to tinker heavily to get it printing right, as in repeatable results with little to no leveling etc. I would say add on at least $100 to get minimal consistency from an Ender starting with bed leveling of some kind, and replacing the main board if it is not equipped with silent stepper motors and thermal runaway. This last one is a real fire hazard, highly recommended.

$200 if you want to add an all metal hotend and a better extruder. Now you are opening up your options for what you can print, and how consistently it prints.

I probably have $500 into mine and at this point it's only ender in name and still original Frame. Aside from that it's all custom.

If you just want to set it up and print stuff: get a Prusa Mini or MK3 if you need more volume. It's cheaper in the long run and the only disadvantage to doing it this way is that you will not be able to diagnose and repair any isssus since you aren't intimately familiar with the components as you would be with an upgraded ender.

Probably the 3 s1 with bed leveling. It's already got most of the needed upgrades.can't comment on reliability I've never used it but I have to imagine it's closer to a Prusa than an Ender 3 in terms of repeatable results.

Also anyone new to printing but is an engineer or a machinist, someone hood with their hands…just get a Voron and skip all this. Would not recommend this for a new to 3D printer user without a technical background,
