Can regal GC be used toward memberships? I thought that did not work, but i have not tried recently.

I have used it for Monthly subscription and it works. Just make sure there is a tick mark against the gift card

Yes, there is a surcharge and it varies depending on the movie in our area.

That's too bad though. I just moved from a town with 2 AMC Dolby Theater locations near me. Their program, AMC A-List, you pay $24 a month. You only get 3 movies a week but that was more than enough for me. You can see any movie format whether its 3D, IMAX, Dolby, etc with no surcharge. The surcharge for buying tickets online is waived as well. The cost of the program includes all of their theaters.

The town I live in now has no AMC theaters just Regal and Regal's program isn't nearly as good. Really miss Dolby Theaters too.

wow, thats good info to know about AMC. Regal is not even close. Their unlimited is free only for standard format "most of the time" and surcharge for everything

For eg: in our area avatar surcharge is
- screenX format - $9.50
- Real D 3D - $4.50
- RPX Real D 3D - $4.00
- IMAX 3D - $7.75
- 4DX Real D 3D - $6.00

Plus online booking fee

You have to cancel your current sub to take advantage of the deal. I contacted them about this a couple days ago and that was the response I got.
