Just my 2 cents, was looking for freezer few yrs ago all I found on big retail stores are chest freezers on discount. I didn't like the idea of bending and getting something way at the bottom without moving ton of stuff at top. 2 yrs ago, I found the upright freezer at sams club, and grabbed it, couldn't be happier. Now this year, Costco started carrying upright freezers in their store too, maybe because of change in demand. I would say do ur research and c whether u need upright FREEZER or Chest one. I Beleive at Costco store , it's the Same price as this one if not lower, but don't know the capacity. Good deal nonetheless

100% prefer my upright over my chest freezer.

FWIW food stays fresher tasting longer and lower electricity with regular chest freezer. Especially important in keeping food fresh when power goes out, big difference. The reason is with regular chest freezer the heavy cold air stays down there as you open it whereas upright it's always leaking a bit through the seals and the cold air falls out when you open it

That's a BIG chest freezer. I have a 7cu ft one and I hate digging for stuff. Can't imagine digging in this thing. Thank God for my upright. So much easier to use. still use the chest for large items: turkey, roasts, whold chickens, etc.

The chest freezer actually comes with two big baskets that are made to rest at the top so it's actually very compartmentalized

Yeah, my 7 cu ft one has two baskets, too, and a divided section. Still really deep in the main section and have to dig for stuff.
