But do you think there's a shoe technology breakthrough from year to year or do you think they change colors and have new ways to describe the foam and rubber they use? It's not like you have to worry about resale value after you drive it off the lot. A good shoe is a good shoe.
Go to a running shoe store if you can. They're always extremely helpful. Try on lots of pairs. Most will have a treadmill you can jog on for a bit. I don't like the newer "cool" shoes and love my brooks glycerin gts shoes.
I get absolutely fleeced every time I set foot in a running store. They have limited sizes and push accessories on you aggressively.
35% off last year's model is not much of a sale. I still appreciate the post, but no way this is a great deal.
It's the lowest price I've ever seen for this model.
It might go lower, but I'm locking in my next pair now.
I understand there are some of the really steep discounts floating around that make 35% off seem pedestrian. I just grabbed a pair of the $70 Asics Nimbus myself!.
But I also just bought these at $90, and oddly, this feels like a better value than the Nimbus at $70 tbh.

Be warned, I've heard and read these 14's use repurposed material, i.e. not as strongly built as previous gens, in particular the part of the shoe thats at the back of your heel is prone to crushing.
That said, I've been still using my Ghost 10's till now and was in desperate need of renewing them. So I Ordered a pair. Would have gotten it from REI, who have them at same price (+REI co-op reward %), but Amazon had the size I was looking for. Couldn't find the fancy colors combo I'd like, so I went for all Black, cause why not, may suit better with all wardrobes.
Btw, I used these Ghosts to walk (sometimes up to) 40,000 Steps a day while backpacking in Japan and my feet never blistered. I'd prepped myself locally in advance and tried many different shoes. Since my once trusty Asics would give me blisters with that much walking.... When I discovered Ghosts, it was settled, these were the Shoes to take on my backpacking trip, my feet never blistered abroad.

I bought these because they got amazing reviews for most comfortable shoes for walking/standing on concrete. Returned them after two weeks, they hurt my feet so bad. Went back to my 20 dollar sketchers from Costco and never looked back
If you happen to have a Dick's Warehouse location near you they likely have these for ~$60. I was at the new Lynnwood, WA store on Friday and they seemed to have many pairs available in all sizes.
Lol. I've been wearing Brooks sneakers for well over a decade... I don't think I've ever paid over $90 (2-3 pairs per yr)
I started with the Ghost 5 or 6. I usually bite when I see them touch $70. Stopped running a couple years ago and now just play basketball indoors with my (v11? v12?). They're great shoes, but delicate as all get out. If you so much as look at the upper crossly they'll rip. And, at least under my 200# frame, tend to wear pretty quickly on pavement.
GHOST 14 is $62.98 + tax + $8 shipping at omegasports.com with code Cyber30. (Includes $5 "rewards"). 30% off is sitewide, with exceptions. Ships from Brooks. ENDS TODAY. Don' t know why,but I couldn't get this to post separately
Edit: I posted my message in wrong thread. Not sure how I made it to this thread. $90 is too much for these. Just ordered them for $63 with no tax and many colors to chose from.

Works for me. I use these in my boots now. idk if they can fit in these thin sneakers however. The sole is quite rigid
