Not the cheapest price, this same seller was taking offers like a month ago and accepting $180-$200. Plus this is only $10 off their normal 'sale' price. I'd wait.
Secondipity is a well established reseller of refurbished Sony headphones. Deals for the previous gen XM4 have been posted on Slickdeals several times, and most people have been happy with their purchase, me among them. I bought a pair, looked brand new, and with the exception of a generic box, came with all the OEM accessories including carrying case. Did have an off putting smell to them, but nothing some disinfectant cleaner and airing out did not fix.
They have their own re-selling website now (though their sale prices on ebay are usually cheaper): https://secondipity.com/
Do you have any experience with the XM5's? I have the XM4's and they've been great. This price interests me, but from most things I've read, they don't seem like they are worth the upgrade even at this refurbished price.
That's a great price. I'm not sure how to feel about the refurbished part. But this is a good video in YouTube about them, but it is in Spanish https://youtu.be/6PaVphhuDsg

Same boat as you. Have no first hand experience with the XM5- considered upgrading but from everything I've read and watched also, see no reason to. I'm happy with the XM4.
I wear the XM4's a lot for the noice cancelling features first I'm sure the XM5 are great headphones, but not sure how much difference the ANC would benefit me, if at all, compared to the XM4's.

The concensus seems to be that the XM5's have superior ANC than previous gens.
XM5's also have..
new design (they don't fold up like the XM4)
Bluetooth 5.2 (supports LE Audio and the LC3 codec)
I had a pair of XM3s die in me after three years of use. Definitely not something that will last.
And I have a pair of XM2's which are 4+ years old and survived quite a bit of abuse. Saying these will not last based on your sample size of 1 is a bit ridiculous. Plus these are completely redesigned, I have heard the previous generations having issues with the hinges.
For what it's worth, I bought 2 refurbished X5 headphones last time at this price. Once set would make a "pop" sound and disconnect from bluetooth every 3 hours. The other set, the microphone would not work. YMMV, but I have not had a good experience with buying these refurbished headsets for the X5. I've bough the X3 refurbished an zero issues. But the X5 was not good to me.
I have had these for about 5 months and really do love these (bought brand new). Have had no issues with mine and I feel like the ANC is great and they are comfortable.
