One of my best purchases. Open your garage from anywhere with cell service and have peace of mind that you closed it.

Having had both, I would say this version is much easier to set up and seems to work more seamlessly with less hassles. I gave away my black one and replaced it with a white one because it's much more reliable with my opener. Fortunately, the black one works ok for the person I gave it to.

I would always choose the white one over the black one for a new purchase, but if you aren't having problems, it may not be worth replacing it either...

Around the same price every Thanksgiving for the past 5 years through 2 different versions.

Surprisingly responsive on the notifications to my iPhone.

Found out two weeks ago that these don't work for all brand of garage door openers. They have a list of compatibility on their app
That's odd since it talks to the button. My 10yr ish Craftsman works fine after replacing the button/control unit. It is just a wifi switch and should work no matter brand or age.

No it doesn't. It talks to the radio receiver. You may have installed a button with a receiver in it, but that's not this device.

I think this is the device you're thinking of, and that's not what is on sale in this thread.

Has anyone used this version successfully with T-Mobile Home internet? They block the ports required on the older version.
Get a wifi extender. I had the same issue.

The sensor determines the position of the door so it knows if it's open or closed (based on whether it is vertical or horizontal).

Does this need an additional paid subscription or not? We're on SLICKDEALS so I'm wondering if I can pay $16.99 and have this open and shut my garage door remotely without any additional expense (other than home internet, which is obvious). I see people referencing random other 3rd party software and Alexa etc etc and I'm not dealing with any of that. If I can't just plug this in, connect it to my home wifi, and then use their app for free then I don't want this...

No subscription required if you just want to use their app. There are some features (like if you add a camera to it) that require a subscription to store the video.

But if you're just using it to monitor your door status (open/closed) and open/close it with the app, completely free.

Spreading the word on this because someone's previous comment literally saved me from trashing this....

I had the black version set up and it worked flawlessly for many years. All of a sudden it started glitching and wouldn't connect. I tried everything, hard reset, starting from scratch, you name it.

Turns out the hub can get interfered with by certain LED bulbs. Turns out I put in these super bright LED work lamps in my garage and they would clear the codes from the unit. I reinstalled the base module underneath my dark work bench and haven't had any problems since.

I have this and vouch for it. It is incredible. I have one of the older garage openers and have misplaced the remotes. Instead, I now have IFTTT widgets installed to easily open and close my garage door without worry.

I no longer have the garage door remote. Do I need to replace it first in order to get this to work?

Maybe someone can help me. I have 2 doors. One has myq with wifi. That one I have connected. My second door has myq but no wifi. Would this help with that? So I can have access to both doors via my phone? Thanks in advance.

I was told by a rep T-Mobile home does not work with any google home products as the Internet is not compatible.
