If you already have an account go the below URL after logging in, you see see a link to register your new product key and once you give the new key and update renewal card details you should be good. You can cancel renewal if you are not ok with auto-renewal.

Curious… fifteen years ago or so when I was worked in IT as a desktop support grunt, this product was virtually synonymous with bloatware and would cause more problems than it solved (sticking its grubby fingers in every part of the OS, slowing machines to a crawl by eating up an unusually large amount of system resources at the most inopportune times, etc…) Haven't paid much attention to it since, really… Has it improved?
It's gotten worse. There have been instances where one of my clients would get maleware on their system. The instant I got rid of Norton and enabled window's defender, defender immediately noticed and got rid of the malware.

Speaking of uninstalling Norton, they make it very difficult. Often Norton does not register in the add/remove program menu. You have to download a separate tool from Norton's website just to uninstall the program. On top of that, even after using said tool Norton still leaves behind a nag screen asking you to re-install.

There's also no option to cancel a subscription within the program itself. You have to call them or go to their website and log in.

Norton is essentially a virus IMO and it's performance is worse than windows defender. No one should be paying money for it.

I have an older 10 year old laptop that I use occasionally and when I turn it on I run Norton on quiet mode. That seems to restrict what all it's doing in the background. The fans turn off when I do that, so it must be doing something to keep it from bogging the machine down. System resources also throttle down significantly.

I mainly use it for filling out forms or using a desktop mode for printing stuff properly. Also good for thumbing through pics from SD cards and organizing things, or a simple PS edit.

Don't really need virus protection, but it's there for possible intrusions I suppose.
If you want an extra layer of security I recommend using Window's Defender in conjunction with Comodo Firewall. From what I have seen, Window's defender is superior at detecting threats while Comodo Firewall will provide superior Network protection than windows firewall or Norton could provide.

Mind you I believe that's overkill for your use case.

No worries, I guess I should have been a little more clear, but basically what happens is it activates the new key right away, so your old key doesn't stop working, it just means you now have two active Norton subs. So ya, best to do it when your current sub is just about to expire.
I just renewed mine and this year they did it different. Go through chat and they will ask you to add the key to your account. Once it's added they will cancel the key and add the time to your old key. It was simple. Before I've had to uninstall and install and they added the extra days to the new key. Mine was due to expire on 12/9/2022 and now the same key expires on 12/10/2023. Makes it easier--the new key shows up on my account but shows as cancelled because the time was added to the old key. This means that all the keys on your computers stay the same. Here is the response in the chat
Yes, I have successfully merged your subscription now you can use your subscription for 377 days and updated expiry date is Dec 10, 2023.

Yeah, I just did this a few minutes ago with a code I bought last year. It's a little time consuming to have to go through their chat to extend a subscription, and as you noted, they added a couple extra steps to the process, but it's not difficult.

It's a good thing PC's are so fast these days. You need a good one just to run this software. Really bogs down my old Ryzen PC. It worked just as well as the built in Windows Defender though. So I'm not sure who this software is for.

I dont know which one is better , may be 20 years ago norton was super but todays bitdefender seems better than others.
IDK if anyone really needs Norton.

Windows Defender has been ranked high in regards to antivirus protection.

I bought an annual Norton sub for 5 computers 2 years ago, and I still haven't installed it
I just use Defender with the Windows firewall. I also add Malwarebytes, but I let the initial premium trials lapse to the free version which is installed to just manually scan my system or individual file when I feel a need.

I asked a friend in IT (former MS employee), and he doesn't use anything other than Defender. My work uses Defender. Thank God, bc I abhor McAfee. Although my old employer also used McAfee to prevent download of data onto personal devices. For whatever reason, Android phones with 128gb micro SD cards weren't blocked. But McAfee caused so much computer lag etc., it was terrible.

If you use a popular cash back site, you can get 80% cash back at the Norton site. 360 Deluxe is $29.99 there, so you're effectively paying around $6.

If you like getting viruses, then, by all means, go ahead and buy this horrible program. You would be much better off using Windows Defender than this POS program.
This dude is right, I work in IT and Norton is garbage, your all just wasting your money and making your computer slower. Windows defender has gotten much better and is better then this crap software. There is a reason it's bundled with a lot of other crap, it's so it gets some people used to the software and they buy it later. Just like mcafee
