I'd like to get a cricut machine to make custom vinyl stickers but the selection of machines, tools, and supplies and apparent subscription requirements is totally overwhelming. I looked at the cricut joy which seemed fine for my purposes, with price, simplicity, and size to ease my mind but reviews on the joy size vinyl are awful and I don't see other brands or options in that 5.5" size. So I felt overwhelmed again. The restrictive return process makes me extra nervous; I don't want to dig myself into a super expensive hobby that doesn't end up actually accomplishing what I'd hoped. Does anybody have suggestions as to the easiest way to get into die cut stickers, either a set of products that are tried and tested or a bundle or even an entirely different machine perhaps? I suppose if doing more than one color I'd have to get a nice inket printer as well, correct? I saw some pictures of cricuts with markers in place of cutting tools but I can't imagine that looking good on a sticker.

Where did the homemade code come from? I'm so frustrated I bought the maker 3 yesterday but the only code I had access to was $15 off the total. Which is like 4%.

This worked for me following the directions listed in OP. I created my account, followed the link to sign up for the free trial, then added to cart. Final total was $340 + $23 taxes = $364.00
