Have 2 of these on either side of the pool. They get plenty loud and provide good sound. Only issue is after a few hours they will go out of sync for about a minute then correct themselves. Great battery life.
My local Sam's Club has these on clearance for a 2 pack for like $50. I think it is worth checking out if you have a Sam's Club nearby. Otherwise, I think this is a great deal.

I paid 99 for a 2 pack at Costco and we have loved it. I have to remember the sequence of steps to sync (I wish this were more intuitive) but otherwise works great. This is a good deal.

do you have to sync them per instruction every time, or just the first time? i want to get 4 total and sync them.
and can they be plugged to AC power so that i do not have to charge them all the time?

I have one of these and love it. The sound is very good for the price point. Good battery life. Fun colors. Mine sits out in the heat and elements in Houston Texas most of the time and it still works great.

Would've gone with a UE speaker but most of them are still stuck on microUSB. At least Anker's embraced USB-C. Thanks OP!

was thinking about putting 4 in the living room and using them as a daily 360 system, i guess that is out of the question now.
