Stereo refers to channels, not speakers.
People seem to be conflating this.
On a more related note - how do they actually sound?
You can pair them duplicate the sound, but it doesn't actually seem to have one speaker as a discrete left channel and the other as a discrete right channel. In fact, as soon as you put the first speaker in "partycast" mode, it stops the stereo effect of that speaker and basically switches to a mono playing the combined stereo channels simultaneously in both drivers within the first speaker. Each subsequent speaker just duplicates this.
So, you actually get MORE of a stereo effect using a single speaker than two paired. (By stereo effect I mean discrete left and right channels, not just a stereo signal mixed down to mono and coming from two sources.) I guess it makes sense when you can pair 100 speakers to avoid having to assign left and right channels, but for those who want to enjoy both left and right channels from separate speakers, these are not the speakers for you.
