I stopped buying JBL products as if you have to use the warranty, they make you ship the faulty product back to them first. I shipped them a pair of faulty earbuds and it took a month to get the replacement.

Just an fyi...

Stereo refers to channels, not speakers.

People seem to be conflating this.

On a more related note - how do they actually sound?
I received my two today and did some testing after updating the firmware. It appears that the individual speakers are indeed stereo have have distinct left and right drivers (logo facing towards, side buttons away for the correct orientation).

You can pair them duplicate the sound, but it doesn't actually seem to have one speaker as a discrete left channel and the other as a discrete right channel. In fact, as soon as you put the first speaker in "partycast" mode, it stops the stereo effect of that speaker and basically switches to a mono playing the combined stereo channels simultaneously in both drivers within the first speaker. Each subsequent speaker just duplicates this.

So, you actually get MORE of a stereo effect using a single speaker than two paired. (By stereo effect I mean discrete left and right channels, not just a stereo signal mixed down to mono and coming from two sources.) I guess it makes sense when you can pair 100 speakers to avoid having to assign left and right channels, but for those who want to enjoy both left and right channels from separate speakers, these are not the speakers for you.

Nice. Just got one for $39 yesterday but it showed as delayed so I canceled it. I ordered two but was only available for pickup. Maybe blue is low stock at distribution centers? I used the PAYPAL10 code to get $10 off so effectively making these $24 each before tax.

Picked one up. How does this compare to the old Bose Soundlink Mini II? The rectangular one? I still have one of those.

also bought one yesterday for $39. It was still in 'preparing' phase of shipment so I requested a cancelation. If it wasn't in time I'll return it.

According to the Walmart website, up to 100 of these speakers can be linked to a single device

They are not stereo, and that was the biggest turn off for me

Still a great deal if you wanna grab like 4 :'D
It's a pillar, it doesn't lay on its side. How could it be stereo individually?

It can absolutely be stereo if you buy two, though

It does not do stereo pairing - it literally can never be stereo...

how good is it for video meeting? mainly the bluetooth latency and microphone. I have an older soundcore speaker which always misses the first a few seconds of voice after a period of silence.
