Seems like a decent deal on the router. Not a good deal at all on an outdated modem (the modem in post is significantly would cripple the router if paired together).
I had ot years ago before. I had my own equipment. But had to switch to Spectrum until just now we moved again and AT&T is available. But I know the type of modem has to be an ONT modem. But I can still use any router.
1. The only way to get into the settings with this router is through their app, and it's a bad app. I own the w21 (step down from this), and the newest version of the app on Android perpetually puts the routers into setup mode. If you think you can just go to 192.168.1.1 on a web browser to change the settings - you'll be disappointed. It's not an option whatsoever.
2. You can't select the channel. So if you're in a neighborhood with considerable wifi interference, you can't pick a channel that's less noisy.
3. Mine frequently drops 2.4ghz devices. Something to do with the way that it's set up to smart switch between 5.0 and 2.4 causes 2.4ghz devices to occasionally fall off. That's not a huge issue with devices that automatically retry. Huge issue with those that don't.
4. No VPN options for whole house VPN clients.
5. The other day it wasn't letting me change my port forwarding settings. I had already rolled back to an old version of the app, and I had to roll back FARTHER just to open up a port for my VPN server.

I wouldn't pay $25 for this. Seriously.
