Debatable. I'll attach mine to a vac system so the corded isn't a big deal. I have a bunch of dewalt 20v and Milwaukee M12; don't really want another battery system

Agree totally. I have the 18x2 cordless version, paid about this with 4 batteries a few years back. It's great for breaking down sheet goods and safer IMO than using a table saw alone unless u fashion a sizeable infeed/out feed or have a large cabinet saw (I have a DeWalt job site saw). Agree with the foam and I have had good luck with the powertec rails, although I think they only have 55 in. Makita makes different lengths and there are also guides to use on the rails for other tools (router, non plunge circ saw). Many companies make parallel guides for the rails too if u need that level of precision.

Had a $60 amex offer as well making it around $312 after tax. I really wanted a cordless version but the price is just too good. I don't plan on making big cuts more than a few times a year. Can anyone speak to any major reasons that I'm missing for why I should wait for a cordless?

I have both a large table saw and a track saw. Tracksaws are great for breaking down plywood because you move the tool across the piece rather than try to move the large sheet across the fence. It's also really nice if you work with slab wood pieces because you can't really run those through a table saw without a straight edge. You can get by without one. I would consider it a luxury tool but one you will be glad to have imo.

You don't have to try to handle big sheets on the table saw with this. It also gives a really clean cut without tear out. My brother has had this for years and really likes it. He's a professional very high end custom cabinet maker. My experience has been if he finds it's really good, it's going to be great for me (average or slightly more DIYer). I've been looking for a while at this. I'm jumping on this deal.

Double check me, but you might just need a utility knife to score the back and then you can knee kick it. All your cuts that a track saw can make will most likely be under a baseboard or trim anyways. They also have laminate floor cutters which won't make a mess like a saw will.

Cutting down 4x8 sheets is very hard to do safely with one person. This saw makes it much easier. You can also use it to cut straight edges on wood that isn't straight without needing to make a jig for a table saw.

I just bought this last week for $127.01 more on amazon last week. Only way to get money back is to order a new one and return old right? Amazon doesnt do pricematch?

Edit: Just asked Amazon chat. They told me to waste logistical resources by returning the one I just bought and place a new order even though they are both sold from Amazon direct. Stupid business practice.
