Whats the difference between the two models of smart plugs?
Kasa Smart Plug HS103P2
Kasa Smart Plug Ultra EP10P2

Edit: is it just size difference?

I got the 3 pack regular switches for $32 and 3 pack dimmers for $45, which seems like the regular sale price. Best buy had the dimmable motion activated for a good price earlier today too.

Yes, 2 of the 3-pack will be replacing Lutrons that I paid full price at Lowe's in the spring. Even if the smart function gets turned off one day I still prefer the style to the Lutrons.

Yes you can. It replaces the wall switch to simply provide voltage for the on/off valve. As long as you originally had a wall switch to control your fireplace you are good to go. Most have ir remotes. Ir remotes usually use battery voltage to control the valve so it would require a lot more wiring. App control would be nice to make sure fire place is off when going to be or set a schedule to always turn it off at a certain time. Go for it!

I tried Feit. Absolute trash. Only hiccup on Kasa (6 plugs) that I had is one day three disconnected from Wi-Fi. Had to unplug them and plug back in. Not sure what caused it (power blip maybe?)

All in all as a way to easily control a lamps and fans they are great.

That's all that appears to be different. One is Mini, one is Ultra Mini.

Thank you for your feedback. I use prosumer WiFi equipment made by Ubiquiti. It can handle a lot of connected devices.

I'll remove and reinstall the Alexa skill for kasa products and see if that helps, but this may be a moot point now as I am already on a path to replace WiFi products with zwave. The issue happens at random which makes it really annoying. I find myself raising my voice to Alexa when having to say the commands if they don't work the first couple of times 🤣

I use one of their 6 outlet energy monitoring strips and one of their energy monitoring plugs in my off grid setup, been quite happy with them.

They're quite helpful in keeping my power use down and being able to track the power use of every device individually.

I just bought another 6 outlet strip on this "sale" but it's still close to their regular price.

A couple of thinks I can think of -

1. 2.4 Ghz radios are cheaper, keeping smart device prices lower.
2, WiFi smart devices don't need a whole lot of bandwidth/speed to perform relatively mundane tasks like clicking lights on and off on a schedule or when motion is sensed.

I have a dual band access point and the 2.4 Ghz band is exclusively for IoT devices with its own SSID and VLAN, isolated from my home network.
