I was staunchly against these pits. As a big fire guy, I thought they were essentially a scam. I was wrong.

I went to a party where they had the Yukon, and I was impressed. I decided to get the bonfire and the pit is truly amazing. There is no smoke once you get it rolling. I don't think I could ever go back.

It seems like maybe the shine has worn off on these things, maybe? I keep seeing deals and combos for them, whereas initially it seemed that they were going with the 'it's premium / never discounted' model.

Maybe some of the knockoffs have encroached on market share.

Question for the community - are these worth it?

I suppose the fact that SD Mods are shilling on their behalf suggests that this is less a 'deal' than a paid advert, which would then lead to the notion that this deal and the corresponding product are, in fact, shite.

Picked up the Bonfire Essential Bundle for $305. Comes with the stand, lid, and carry case. Will get $70 Cashback from Chase (min. $280 purchase), and then probably sell the Mesa for $60 or so. Will make my total about $175 plus tax for the full bundle with stand and lid, so even cheaper than the base bundle without the extras after the $50 off offer.

How are you getting the chase offer? I have the sapphire card but do not see a solo offer?

I opted for the Mesa. The more expensive colored Mesa's qualified if that helps anyone's decision. Bonfire 2.0 + stand and a blue Mess was $254 plus Amex $50 off.

2 years ago the Bonfire was $215 with free shipping but I think that's the lowest it has been, so yes with the added Mesa / $50 I agree with you .

I know it's not the deal, but I went with the backyard bundle that includes the base and the shield, which are two accessories I think I need for my situation. I consider the other accessories that bundle comes with freebies. With the amex offer, it seemed like an alright deal for something I've been wanting to buy anyway.
