Amazon has Lightning deal going on right now for the 5 pack sensors too $39.99 lightning less $5.00 clipped coupon (final price $34.99 for 5 sensors)....but only a short time left.

It is very clever in its design. The sensors themselves are dummy sensors that only emit an audible sound and a frequency, when tripped. This allows them to maintain battery life and have very good range.

The plug-in hub (FYI, only 2.4ghz WIFI wireless is supported) is the 'brains' that talks to your home router and will send an alert to your smartphone if it picks up that frequency from the device, when tripped. That is my understanding of how it works.

If all the technology was in each sensor it would not only cost more, but it would have lesser range and drain the battery quicker.

I'm a big fan of these. I have the maximum 10 sensors in my house (max 10 per hub).
They are compatible.
To avoid the confusion, I will explain again...

These are compatible. I have been using them for a year. If you want WIFI, you need the HUB. ( and you can add the 5 pack to your existing hub)

Nice range on the sensors, much better than my Bluetooth-based Orbit B-Hyve water sensors. And I like that it uses cheap AAA batteries instead of coin cell battery.

I've heard you can use more than 10 on one hub.

My understanding one year ago when I bought these and installed them was that it was 10 max....but I could be wrong. I just did a search and on reddit [reddit.com], it was reported that Govee site says 10 max, but people have more than 10 working in the app. Someone had 13 working.

Exactly that. I even emailed them and they said 10. But like you said, people on Reddit reported success with more than 10. I'm at 10 right now. So trying to decide what to do. I got the main zones covered but they work well and I'd like a few more.

Dang these used to be $25 for 5 all the time but now they seem to be way more expensive than before.

I have the orbit B-Hyve sensors and have not been impressed with their performance.

Glad to see that Govee has something that is hopefully better. I have some of their BT thermo - hygrometers which work well for the price.

This is great product. It alerted my water heater burst in the garage 4 weeks ago. Good thing my garage didn't flood because of this!
