Nice deal, especially since 60Hz is enough even for my gaming. Is HDR 400 "HDR" enough though?

Not bad. It's $296 at Amazon now, this is definitely the cheapest I've ever seen.

does this work well with macOS? I've had issues before with blurry text because the monitor isn't high enough resolution to work with Mac Retina display

I feel like 4k at 27 inches it kinda pointless. 1440p at 144 hz would be better I think.

I think the Dell and HP 4k deals were better by far this week.

Tech Deals guy on YouTube says anything under 1000 isn't worth it. Images will be muddy, sketchy etc

He makes comments on one of the BF deals listed

The r/monitors subreddit is full of people clamoring for 4k 24 inch monitors like Dell stopped making. Some people just crave that pixel density.

I'm not familiar with MacOS, but in Windows I run these at 200% Windows scaling. That makes the physical size of the text and icons equal to a 27" monitor running at 1920x1080, but everything is twice as sharp.

Most new apps look fine at 150% or 200% scaling, but some apps that don't have high-DPI icons will look fuzzier at the 150%.

HDR 400 can be read as "yeah we support HDR signals" and nothing else. You'll want something well above 400 nits with local dimming zones if you want a good HDR experience. DisplayHDR 1000 is a solid goal to aim for.

Not to say there's no point to HDR like this though. A lot of 4K Blu-Ray players won't convert HDR if plugged into a non-HDR display, leading to a washed out image.

4/5k at 24" is the dream.
