Consensus for older models is that V10 > V8 > V11…13 > V7 (paraphrasing older posts on the dyson vacuums from slick deals). This ranking is based on pure value. Newer models have some fancy features but have significant costs.

V10 and V8 are comparable. V10 has a great design and sucks hard. V8 is the easiest to open and empty and balances battery life and power.

Everyone here agrees the fluffy head is a game changer. I love it.

Just got this over all the other Dyson vacuum deals(older and newer) the past few days. Did too many hours of research to finally decide on this. If you're in the market just buy this because I did all of the research for you.

We bought a refurbished V10 Absolute back in 2020 from Walmart and it has been a game changer in our house. It's much less cumbersome to grab it off the dock and start vacuuming compared to our previous huge vacuum that was always tucked away in the closet.
I actually just received an after market "extra long" flexible crevice tool from AliX that attaches perfectly to the V10.

Just got my V10 Absolute + 3 Free Tools (Stubborn dirt brush, Fabric and mattress tool, Up-top adaptor) and V10 cyclone Dok. The cyclone Dok itself came with 5 tools, 4 of which already came with the V10 set (Stubborn dirt brush, Fabric and mattress tool, Up-top adaptor, Mini soft dusting brush). The 5th tool in the Dok was an Extension hose.

So 4 duplicate tools fwiw. Not sure what I will do with the 4 spares, so just sharing in case anyone cares.

The duplicate tools are annoying. My OCD is bothering me that there are extra tools and at the same time I can't fill all the slots in the docking station. If anyone has solved this, please share!

Came to ask about the duplicate tools and glad I saw this post. Now those 4 extras are just sitting in the box.

Also, still haven't gotten my Rak cash back even though I submitted a help ticket.

I DIY'ed a mount for the additional tools with a piece of painted pressure treated lumber and 2" PVC mounted to the lumber.

You're right, It is not showing in the basket anymore. You could chat online with a dyson representative and they will add it for you.
