Says frustration free packaging. Does that mean it's not in a retail box? Typically frustration free comes in a brown box and might not be aesthetically pleasing to be given as a gift.

Bought this exact same thing frustration free version a few days ago, it's the real Lego box inside another small perfectly fitted brown box.

I have bought a couple of Lego sets from amazon that said this (including this set). They came in their retail box and an outer plain cardboard box to protect it during delivery. I think it just means that the outer box is not oversized and filled with padding. You can also mark it as a gift and then they put it in another box with a gift slip if you want to be sure nothing happens to it.
