This will not be your lifetime, but until the service goes under.

Posting what I had in the previous thread for awareness.

As someone who has had pcloud for several years, I can no longer recommend it.

Upload speeds are atrocious and their support is useless and they will routinely just blame your ISP. See subreddit for tons of posts from myself and others...

Eventually they admitted to me their engineers "found an issue" but could give me no timeline of the fix.

I have symmetrical fiber 1gb and uploading the same 4gb test file to Google drive takes a fraction of the time.

If speeds matter to you, avoid. Otherwise it's been fine.

Not to mention horror stories of them locking the acct for copyright when it wasn't and without warning.

Did they find shared links posted or snooped through customers' files?

I'm new to this. I didn't realize it was a repost. But I will say this has 3 different storage options where the link you posted is only for 2TB.

They never tell their victims (users) which file(s) triggered the copyright infringement. It is suspected by many that they scan all files by their hashes (which can lead to false positives, including 0 byte files), however Pcloud denies using hashes to find pirated files.

It should be noted, if you use zero knowledge (client-side) encryption, then Pcloud could not identify those files, even if they are pirated. To use Pcloud's client side zero knowledge encryption, you have to pay extra (another $150 or so I think). Icedrive has cheaper lifetime storage which includes the zero knowledge encryption in the price (but they are a newer, less established company). Also, icedrive has all but outright stated that they don't care about the legitimacy (or illegitimacy) of your files.

Another alternative to zero knowledge encryption is software like Cryptomator which is free and open source. You could use that instead of paying for Pcloud's zero knowledge encryption.

Regardless, if you use Pcloud's, icedrive's, or cryptomator's zero knowledge encryption, if you lose the key, you lose your data. No one can help you, because they don't have the information necessary to decrypt your files (that's the point).

For the people that have their service thank you for all the honest comments. I was going to buy the 10TB plan but since its so slow, I would have a difficult time utilizing that much space.

Same. I guess pcloud is off the list.
