It says seven modes. Are these the ones u have to cycle thru the modes by switching it on and off and on again until u get the one u want. If so that's annoying.

Uh huh, 20k lumens from 4 AAA batteries.

They do claim XHP70.2. Even if it's true they use that emitter, max for one is around 6k lumens with a good driver.

That LED emitter alone is about $25. Doubt they could put that in a $12 light. Part of me wants to try. Return to Amazon if they suck.

Most LEDs are rated at around 100 lumens/W and at the very most 300/W (ultra high end Cree). Getting 20K lumens from a 20W light is beyond the theoretical limit of 350 lumens/W.

Looking at wattage will give you an idea of the true luminosity. I always go with 100 lumens/W as a general idea for brightness.

Can it have longer throw but less lumens? Maybe using some kind of magnifying glass and mirror tricks? I have one of those older slide to focus cheap Chinese flashlights and they throw a square beam on focus position and I can clearly see 200ft away. I am looking for something like that but brighter at that distance, not a super wide spread.
