Would this guitar work for sitting in my zoom meeting background so people can ask me if I play guitar and I can lie about it? Asking for a friend.

I got my last strat about 2 years ago for $1000. I settled for the lake placid blue with maple board because of the sale. The sunburst Strat and the gray tele with rosewood are so sweet, I would rather pay a little more and get a nice color BUT I NEED ANOTHER GUITAR LIKE I NEED A HOLE IN THE HEAD

how much are these gonna be in january after the annual price hike? 1850?

Some places on reverb will sell these for 1449 area.

So this is $200 savings in addition.

I remember your deal. Definitely glad I didn't do the blue. If you had to do it again would you go with this?

If this deal were available two years ago (it has actually been three years ago because it was pre pandemic) I would have spent the extra $250 for the better color. I think the days of $1000 amercan pro strats/teles are over. The guitar market took a bump just like everything else. With that said I'm glad I got my blue strat, I have enjoyed it the past two years and I threw some lollar blackface pickups in it. But looking back and still true now, where you gonna find an american pro strat for $1000 new? It's tough to find them pre owned for that much. I actually had someone offer me $1000 for it a year after I had it. I would just on another american pro strat/tele for $1000 if that deal came up again regardless of color.

For zoom meetings, I highly recommend a heavy relic custom shop. That will make it much easier to lie about being a touring musician.

I also bought the lake placid blue for $999 here. Hated the color in the pictures but once it arrived it looked amazing. The photos dont do a good job of showing it. Its very metallic and elegant. SHows off the strat curves nicely.I ended up selling it and getting a Miami blue American Pro II but wouldn't hesitate to get a lake placid blue guitar again.
