I think cordless matters a lot less with a track saw. These things excel at their dust collection compared to a circular saw. If you're going to be hooking up a dust extractor or shop vac to it anyway, then a power cord isn't going to make much of a difference anyway.

You're obviously an experienced woodworker, but some of the advice you give here is so strange and nonsensical

Track saws have fantastic dust collection, if you're running a hose for dust collection it's no extra work to be using a corded version, especially since you can plug the cable into a dust extractor which will automatically turn on when you turn on the track saw.

Basically there are no downsides to a corded version and there are huge upsides like not having to worry about batteries decaying over the years

If working indoors, you'll want a dedicated saw like this Makita. The dust collection is worth it to me at least

Did you guys get your kit? Mines was finally delivered today and I'm not home to check. But from my security camera, it looked like they delivered me the track with no saw. I'm curious if you guys got the right thing and if the saw and track came in separate boxes.

My Amazon order status shows delivered so I'm perplexed.

I had the opposite problem. Saw but no track. Hopefully they're shipped separately and I'll get the track within a few days

I have no faith in this happening. Amazon doesn't normally ship items separately like this without at least marking them separately. Their logistics isn't this sloppy. I'll call them when I get home to confirm there is no saw. Please keep me updated if you call and I'll do the same.

I stand corrected. I called them and they said it was shipped in 2 boxes but they share the same tracking number. I was told to wait until tomorrow to see if the 2nd box shows up as there's no way to track the 2nd box (since it shares the same tracking number as the 1st).

Called again today since the 2nd box didn't show up. This rep said it wasn't shipped in two boxes. Wtf. But she ordered me a replacement and it now has a delivery of early January.

Well, at least they're making it right. I guess I'll be prepared to contact if it's a partial.

My order updated to arriving Dec 28th, it hasn't shipped yet.

Got my track saw today, but the guide rail is quite bent. Both were in the same box, but the track saw box was taped on top of the guide rail, so I don't really know how it got so beat up. No option from amazon to do an exchange, and I'm not certain if I order another that it won't arrive bent too.

How big was this box? The track itself is very long box due to the length of the track. So they'd have to find a box that long AND tall enough to contain the tracksaw box. lol.
