When the iPad itself magnetically connects the Pencil having a slot isn't necessary.

What perfect timing for this to come out right after Target's iPad Pro 11 sale yesterday! It's odd that it says compatibility is only with 1st and 2nd generation iPad Pro 11s when it should work for the 3rd generation as well since the only change is the speakers.

MHNJ3LL/A is the model number for the iPad Pro 5th Gen 12.9. If it fits this model then I'll buy right away 😁

Yes it does fit.
It's just a hair thicker than the 4th gen.

The third generation had a single camera and thus the smaller cutout. I am not convinced that the information on the page is correct. The price would be in line with something of limited use. Wish there was a better way to clear this up.

If I'm putting a device in a bag, I trust a fabric slot to hold it more than a magnet where it can get bumped off.
