Did you ever check to see if the Liquid Metal was factory applied properly? Maybe that was causing that high of temps?
Someone in another thread mentioned the newer version with the updated CPU may have the Mux switch in Armory Crate. That would be nice, if true.
Did you try different/updated drivers for the sound breaking/high pitched noise? Was it the speakers? As for the line down the screen issue as well, did they tell you what the root causes were for these 2 RMA's?
How good is the RMA process in terms of turnaround time and the condition in which you get the laptop back? Is it all pre-paid shipping labels or did you have to pay one way?
The nice thing about going Lenovo Legion route is they offer extended warranties up to like 5 years, at a reasonable price. But I've also read folks who tried to get replacement parts under warranty only to be told they were out of stock.
At $1099.99, this G15 Strix is a pretty strong, competitive offering, if you manage to get a good one that stays good. I'm kind of worried about reliability long-term.
I did not update the drivers. The noise was terrible and sounded like a high pitch midi sound you get from electronics.
They do not tell you what the causes is but my panel got replaced. They did a poort job gluing the frame to the panel as there was a noticeable gap. It doesn't affect the panel as it is small but you can run your finger over it and tell there's an air gap. Turn around was 2 weeks. I had to pay to ship to them.
I bought this laptop when it was $1600 and I still love it. It is a graphics powerhouse. I use an air cooling pad when I use the laptop on my lap and am gaming.
I just upgraded the RAM to 32GB and it is working great. CRUCIAL 32GB DDR 4 CL22.
One thing to note is when you lift the back case, there are two cables that are attached to the mobo which need to be disconnected. They are the LED light cables for the case.
Bought this last time it was 1099. Performs very well, no major issues. Wifi card is trash, tried updating driver, didn't improve. RGB lighting does weird stuff when machine goes to sleep. But no crashes, no restarts, temps okay, so they've fixed the issues previous model had. No better machine at this price.
Serial starts with N2 - made in Feb 2022. Go to store and check serial numbers. Anything after M8 should be updated version.
bought the asus g14 6800s
[I figured the 6800s and 6800m were about the same
Thought i was getting a better machine buying the g14 6800s since its newer... Also $400 more.
Should i have bought this instead?

I just bought this and my serial starts with MA and is build date 2021-10. Should I go back an look for a more recent build date? I was pretty surprised at the age of this one. What exactly did they change on it in 2022?
Can you elaborate on which date I should check for? Mine is 2021-10, serial starting with MA, and I am not sure which issues it may have. Will the store let you check boxes for dates?

MA, MB, MC onward is supposed to be considered good batches with issues resolved. N* is even better.
