That underbody light seems like an amazing tool, but severely overpriced. I can see purchasing this light if you make your living working as a mechanic. I do all of the work on my own cars, but for me, even on sale, I can't justify the price tag.
Thanks to the OP for posting though.

I don't see why the high price for this item. I have a bunch of Milwaukee M12 tools included a couple of their work lights that work for this same purpose if needed. Don't have magnets? Add an "S-hook" or if the vehicle is on jack stands instead of a car lift just leave the light on the ground and pivot the head upward…lol

I'm normally all in for good quality tools, including the likes of Milwaukee, Dewalt, Makita, etc., $150 for about $25 worth of plastic, battery, and a little metal seems a bit pricey, and not really FP material. Understand that there are some whose usage is different, and this might be a good buy for them, but as others mention, there are other ways.
Nope

Given this light is identified by Milwaukee as an underbody light, it is designed to be used under a vehicle on a lift. Since most DIY mechanics do not have lifts, I don't think they are Milwaukee's target buyer for this light.

As a DIY mechanic myself, my cars are always close to the ground Weeping and my 700 lumen M12 Rover works well enough. Having said that, I can see this being indispensable if you work under cars on a lift everyday.

Yup, its clear its best used under lifts. We used to use the rocket light under the lift but it gets in the way as you move around, this one is a lot more logical. It is nicely built and well designed for it's niche purpose and can also double as an under the hood light if it's a steel hood (and a pretty good underhood light at that). It's in the PRO deal of week section so I don't think it's out of place since this is sort of specialty tool for mechanical work under lifts. There's no real reason to buy this over the standard rover light if you're on jackstands.

$150 for this combo is a good deal though, Milwaukee niche lighting has quite the premium. The underhood light is almost always $200 all year round (tool only). So to get the under lift light for $50 less than that plus a battery is a good deal for a side hobbiest w access to a lift or fulltime mechanic.

I have been waiting for this to go on sale. I can see why DIYers doesn't see this as a deal. As a mechanic, this definitely seems like an excellent light to invest in. For those in the field, they know even buying something small on Snap on, Mac or even Matco will cost an arm and a leg. Therefore, our vision looking at $150 isn't a bad deal. I do alot of transmissions, suspension and engine swap. Personally, I found this pretty cheap compared to some small light I bought off Snap on cost me over $180

Thanks to the OP for posting though.
when you break down the parts, it's actually insane at MSRP

an articulating arm, with LEDs on the end... almost 300$ for 1200 lumens!

I don't see the usefulness of this if the car isn't on a lift. If it's on jack stands, I don't think there is enough clearance for the arm of this light. And the hefty price tag...even on special buy!!
