Moved to the RP from a 6D and love it. There are quirks just like every camera, but it's a solid upgrade. It's also a lot smaller than the 6d. The EF adapter works well enough that I don't have any R mount lenses yet.

Basically, you give them the model and serial number of your broken camera. It does not have to be a DSLR, it can even be a low-end P&S, same discount. They then offer a discount on a new one (usually 20%) or sometimes it can apply to the refurbished ones (usually 10%). They may send you a prepaid return box or envelope for the old camera/lens. When I did it, it had the address of a recycle place; another time they told me it was not necessary.
I bought the Refurbished EOS R with RF 24-105mm F4 L IS USM Kit last night (with 7% cash back through PayPal) and I'm glad I did, because that kit sold out within minutes.
