Buyer Beware: These Toshiba TV's are built exclusively for Best Buy. I bought one such Toshiba Chromecast Built In TV from Best Buy and it had many kinks. UI was pretty basic. No firmware updates. Buggy UI. Support process was convoluted. These Chromecast/FireTV smart TVs do not have direct support from Toshiba/Best/Chromecast/Fire for various issues. Better to stick with regular smart TV with manufacturer specific Smart TV OS.

Is it better than TCL's recent deal? https://slickdeals.net/f/16198957-65-tcl-4-series-4k-uhd-smart-roku-tv-228-free-s-h
I bought the TCL and now this…will probably return the TCL. Went to the store and it doesn't have a very good viewing angle. Score 1 for procrastination…because once it's mounted I'm not taking it down for 5-10 years.

How would this do as a budget patio Tv? If we get 2-3 years out of it I'd be happy.

Is this a good deal? Yes, but only if you need a tv or have to replace one. I can't see this replacing
Any tv I already have…I have tv still from the 3d tv era that is running quite well.
I'm thinking I need better specs if I'm going to buy a tv right now. And nothing out there grabs
Me as a good replacement for perfectly good TVs I have right now.
Just saw your reference about your 3D TV. Yes, I too have one of those 3D Tv the Samsung 7000 series from 2010. It is still going strong and the clarity is second to none, the only issue is that the colors are not true. I wanted to replace it with an OLED and recently got the LG oled A2 and it is not as good as my 12 year old Samsung, when watching sports. The color on the LG is definitely better than mine. My old TV has better clarity on fast action sports. So I returned the LG Oled. Those 3D TVs were very good for its time but pricey at around $1400.

That sharp TV has local dimming?

Sharp is now $379.

Also I do not believe it has local dimming. Can you confirm where you see that it does?
I think you are right. The Sharp doesn't have local dimming either... Guess I'll be waiting for a TCL 5.

The Echo is a weird incentive considering it's only 15 bucks on Amazon right now.

I've got two 3D TVs still, and I don't know what you mean by saying the colors weren't true. Perhaps that is on lower end models. My Panasonic ST60 plasma was regarded as having one of the best pictures since the Pioneer Kuro. I got lucky and found my 55 inch for only $999 at Sears. My other one is a Samsung JS8500 SUHD that does HDR10. The color is pretty accurate out of the box in Movie mode, and it has a wide color gamut. That was a $3,000 TV I got for $800. It was an "open-box" Amazon Warehouse deal that turned out to be brand new and sealed from the factory when I received it.

3 years ago i bought Toshiba fire tv and it has been the WORST tv. Constantly restarting, issues with the platform, slow to respond etc. bestbuy came to look at it twice and claimed nothing was wrong with it. Anyways maybe it's upgraded now, but ours is trash.
