Seriously, though, I probably rely on anonymous fellow Slickdealers a bit too much for advice on this stuff.
Finally get to try magnacut. Larrin is understandably pretty excited to have developed this steel. Was already considering the deka, but the early runs were a bit too soft for my liking (the wear resistance of the formulation is already below my usual preference, but really want to see what the higher toughness does for edge stability). Missed it in the MC Ritter, so seeing this price with the higher hrc is great. Have the Ritter in 20cv and the build quality is excellent. The able lock is every bit as good as the axis locks I've had over the years (about a dozen).

It's a good knife. It's blue with a sharp blade. It has a pocket clip to keep the knife from falling out of your pocket. It also is considered a "folder" since it folds in half once you depress the locker. I'll edit this post if I missed anything.

I've got this knife. It's a great flipper. It's smaller and the blade is thinner than I hoped, but many people prefer this size. MagnaCut steel is the best there is.

It went out of stock and did not want coated--does not seem to be necessary for this steel.
The blue satin clip point just came back so I finally got it.

Still happy to get to try magnacut out for a discount.
Thanks OP!
Could you elaborate on what it is about the bugout that would lead someone to prefer this knife?
Plus BM has soured many in recent years.
