A lot of people don't know the additions between the Wii and the HD Remaster so here's what I found:

-Visual Upgrade (HD, 60fps)
-Joycon motion controls are more responsive than the Wiimote was, or you can use button controls with Joycon/Pro Controller/switch Lite etc
-Skippable dialogue, cutscenes, tutorials, less 'annoying helper' moments, no item pickup messages every time, autosave, camera control

I was in the same boat. I originally couldn't get into BOTW and found it to be super confusing. Out of the blue, I started playing it again, got completely hooked, and beat it. Best Zelda game I've ever played, despite a slightly different formula. Can't wait for the sequel in May!

As much as I want to like the game, they should have ported it a way where you can press a button to swing your sword instead of trying to control it with a joystick. Want to like this game...this feels more like a emulator. Once again Nintendo ported without any thought to enjoy it more on the switch.

That's why I hated it on the Wii... First time I just quit playing a Zelda game... Second time is botw... But I thought this version you could turn off motion controls? Still I'm not ready to try this game

Zelda is my favorite game franchise but this game is terrible. Linear, repetitive, and that big empty sky overworld without anywhere good to explore.

I think if it was released back in the day, it would be amazing. I wish it was a little more linier because I don't have time to play... I miss the 8 dungeon boss formula as I just roam around... I envy everyone who has time to explore. OoT is my fave, second a LttP, MM, and TP... Just to name all of the many 8 have best. Botw is good... Maybe one day I can get the time to do it. But skyward sword had to be one of the worst/most frustrating I played. Nintendo does the hand holding too much and the motion controls turned me off... Why do I need to know a green rupee is had the value of 5 every time I turn the game on? Nintendo just got too casual for me and Zelda is my favorite franchise, so it bummed me out... I just don't have time for games anymore... So maybe one day I can get back to it

I think it will be the same for me... I just have to get the time to let it hit

They did the exact opposite of what you're saying. Instead of just having motion controls, they also introduced button controls. Still not very traditional gameplay, but the game wasn't developed with button controls in mind. They also made quite a few of quality of life improvements.

Never know what to make of this deal. Love Zelda. I see all the negative comments, but I see it always gets lots of likes. This could not be more confusing of a deal.

Game was alright, the AI "helper" is really annoying...about the only thing that is more annoying is having to recalibrate the controller constantly. Honestly, I wouldn't buy it again at $30...

I got one. $30 is decent. I've been waiting for it to drop more, but Nintendo games rarely drop below $40. Reviews aren't that great but I wanted it in my collection.
