This thing is a beast for the size and price. 3050 TI should play modern games on medium or better and should be able to max out older games. Really impressive deal.

That isn't a Swift X. But comparatively this has a dedicated GPU that will be significantly faster than the Iris Xe integrated GPU.

I see, but I don't see where it states how much VRAM the dedicated GPU has in this model. Do you know where to find theses specs ?

EDIT, never-mind, I see VRAM specs are listed in the OP's info. Only 4GB

Would you get this refurbished unit for $680 or brand new for $780?

Been researching laptops for a while now, I finally pulled the trigger last week on a refurb for $650 frome Walmart (VIP Outlet). Legion 5, 17" FHD, 5800H, 140W 3070, 1TB SSD. Now I can't even look at the deals because they pale in comparison... Coming in the mail tomorrow, excited to see the condition.

How much of an upgrade is a 40w 3050ti over an integrated gpu? I can't think it can be too much.
Its about the same as a desktop 1060/580

Nice brag... Applause

Hope yours turns out, the VIP outlet has very hit or miss so yours could be b stock with dents and scratches galore. Still, for that money, insane buy. Way different class than this though. That is a dedicated gamer, this is a thin and light that still has enough power for intensive tasks like gaming but wasn't built with that as the primary objective. I'd much rather lug this little guy along for trips versus a bulky legion. Just saying.

I repasted with TG kryonaut, limit CPU to 13.5w, and flashed the 3050ti vbios to 40+5w and have no issues even with 65w usbc (although this is with the lid closed removing the LCD power drain). 1080p60 is fine, overwatch 1080p@165 no problems. I can get well over 10 hours at 30% brightness and limiting CPU to 4/8 watts which is still faster than the old 9th gen Intel i7 i had. Now with dlss even flight simulator plays well at 1080p. Terribly efficient little machine. It isn't truly meant to be a gamer laptop, but as said above it's roughly equal to desktop 1060/580 both of which are still near the top of the steam charts so very clearly people can game with this much horsepower. as for the 5800u, if allowed to boost to 40w and above, which it will stock, it's really not that far behind a 5700x desktop.

Nice deal. Webcam is 720 and no black keys. It seems the thermals and battery life are pretty good.

This 3050 Ti is probably about twice as powerful as the most powerful I-GPU, the AMD 680M. I just got a Thinkbook 13s with the 6800U, it's about a pound lighter for the laptop and AC adapter combined vs. this Swift X, which I also seriously considered.

Torn between this and baseline model MacBook Air M2 8gbRam 256gb at Costco for $1150 or online for $1100. This one seems to beat it only on price and graphics card. But i don't really game and i don't own any apple products. Just looking at Mac bc I'm tired of PC laptops (3 ) croaking out me after a few years. Have a home PC that's solid, just looking for portability and great reliability. I'm worried about getting what I paid for and I want to last me 3yrs minimum.

Ugh, just got myself one of those Thinkbook 13s Gen 4 with the 6800U / 680m igpu for ~$700. I mostly just need a good travel laptop, but sometimes am staying in a place for work for a week or two, and wouldn't mind the ability to do some gaming. Wondering if I should pick this up instead, looks like it would take a hit on noise / battery, but really give me better gaming chops going forward. As long as I can charge and game over powered USB-C I think it would be a good call. Any thoughts here?

Did you come to a conclusion? I'm debating this myself.
