Most Vise grip jaws at the tip have a flat surface and no teeth. The jaws of these pliers have a bit of a "radius" in the jaw with fine teeth. They absolutely do a better job. I've used vamplies (same as engineer) to extract a few screws. It's no contest.
Looks to be a great deal on these specialty pliers, I'm in for one--thanks barebottoms!
Btw these seem almost identical to another Japanese screw removal pliers called "Vampliers".
(love that name, but at twice the cost, not likely to be seen in my workshop)

They are the same company as far as I know. Vampliers is just the US brand name.
This a first for me. Would be great if this would become common place for knives, tools, etc. without actually having to order from Amazon Japan:

Impulse buy thanks op 😑
The reviews sold me on it's uses, as a wrench turner myself I've always had to get creative when something is stripped but have never gone out and bought a extractor kit.
Lots of the reviews had stuck screws that channel locks, pliers, vicegrips wouldn't touch and this thing knocked it out.

How much more useful is this than, say, a pair of vise grips that you can lock down on the screw head?
