The point was these USB ports don't provide enough power to do that.

Most devices I use require 20 to 30 W, but they often go up to 100W. Anything that is going to be plugged in regularly has a power cord, not a USB port.
Ah I see your point there. I am still stuck a few years behind and still have only stuff that requires a small wattage. The newest device I have is a Pixel6a and don't care about fast charging and still use an older 2a charger. This product is actually perfect for a lot of people and would be great as a spare to keep in a suitcase for travel. Actually I don't know anyone that uses anything other then a micro b cable or low power usb c cable. Also, good for mp3 player charging, flashlight charging.

The key there is most devices you use. Everyone isn't you. There are all kinds of things that come with USB plugs to recharge. Several were mentioned above. Dozens of items that use small rechargeable batteries come with a USB port these days and most all of them will charge just fine on 5 watts if speed isn't an issue. Like I said, I probably wouldn't use this as my main charger for expensive electronics and of course it's not going to charge bigger devices like a laptop. But for a cheap outlet at a workbench to charge up my battery powered tools, it would be fine. Or for a spot next to the couch where a lamp plugs in and I might occasionally want a USB outlet. USB outlets can be handy in a lot of places these days, but don't necessarily need a high-power charger at all of them. Lots of uses for something like this for some people. Not everyone.

Below are a few of the devices around my place that recharge just fine on a 5 watt charger.
I didn't realize that Dremel products were so low-power.

But yes, that was my point. The things I use require more power, or at least I presume so. Which is why I had to ask others what they were charging with USB.

Sure, and this list is what I was trying to get at by my original question. I don't think I have anything that uses micro USB anymore, and my mp3 player and flashlight are my phone. I got rid of most things that aren't Qi or C. The exception is some xbox controllers and kindles. But they don't really see much use anymore since newer versions of the product are C.

Edit: I just realized we have hand-powered flashlights.

They're battery powered and they just use USB to recharge, so they don't necessarily need to pull as much power as they use to run. I've never used them when plugged in. I actually have AC corded ones for heavy use, but don't need those much and have found that the battery Dremels are great for small projects and I often use them a number of times over a few weeks before charging them. But the batteries charge up no problem on low power. Same with the Bluetooth speaker … I'm sure it would want more power to actually run, but it has a great battery that lasts for hours and when I'm done, I just plug it in overnight and it's good to go for next time. I'm actually kind of surprised how many things like this come with USB ports these days. It's nice not to have separate chargers for everything that end up getting lost all the time.

Actually, it got me wondering what the original charger that came with the Dremel Versa was since I usually just plug everything into whatever charging ports I have open. I looked and realized I hadn't even unwrapped the Versa charger from the package … looks like it came with a 1 amp brick.

I just got mine. It is a quality product and I am pleased with it. May order another 2 for other bedrooms. A few pros and cons:

1. As you can see from the picture attached, it is pretty compact.
2. The green light on the power switch will light up when turned on. Power can be turned off by the switch, which is a good safety feature.
3. The surge protector provides 900J surge protection, which is adequate for most small electronics.
4. The two USB-A and one USB-C ports are convenient, because each person in the family may have different preference of using either USB-A or USB-C cables. It charges my iPhone 11 Pro Max with no probem. I didn't feel it is slow. The charging speed is not important for me. I prefer my phone being charged slowly overnight when I sleep.
5. The 5Ft power cord is pretty stiff, which makes it difficult for the adaptor to stay in the desired position. One can always fix it with double-sided tape.
6. It comes with 9 AC outlets. I don't think I will never need that many. I wish it comes with fewer outlets. The more outlets, the more pron it is to break.
7. The box says it is a new model.

Hope it helps.

Glad it looks good. As long as the topic of charging iPhones came up, I'll mention a little about it that I had never heard until fairly recently. Since then, I usually try to stick to Apple cables and chargers for my iPhones since they're rather expensive and seem to be a bit more delicate than most items in that regard. I'm not paranoid about it and still use other charges occasionally, but I try to keep an Apple one for the main place I plug into nightly. I may be overly cautious, but that's one item I don't want to take chances with. Anyway, here's my previous post about why from another thread …

Quote from SlySol :
True … I used to be fairly careless with using any old cheap chargers for anything. Then a friend's iPad stopped charging and after investigating, I found there is a chip (called Tristar) in iPhones / iPads which can be damaged by subpar chargers or cables and kill the charging mechanism. A local iPad repair place confirmed that it's a pretty common repair, so I wonder how many people end up with those issues without ever really understanding the cause. Below are a couple of articles about it for anyone interested. I'm all for cheap deals, but I only use stuff like that with my cheaper electronics or as emergency spares these days.

https://iphonerepairbase.co.uk/ab...c-tristar/

https://ifixelectronics.com.au/tr...explained/

Quick synopsis … "the Tristar IC is prone to damage by voltage spikes and noisy electrical signals. Either or both of these can come from cheap charge cords, wall cubes, and/or car chargers and portable batteries."

One more bit of info on iPhone charging. The vid below shows the charge time differences on an iPhone 13 using a 5W, 12W, and 20W charger. It looks like it takes 4 hours to reach full charge with the 5 Watt charger. I'm guessing it's probably similar for an iPhone 14. Like I said previously, I don't necessarily recommend using an off-brand charger but if you have a 5 Watt charger from an old iPhone 8 or something sitting around, that's plenty to charge your phone overnight. Sure, get a fast charger for your desk if you need a quick boost during the day, but upgrading that one on the nightstand to higher power really isn't necessary at all.

Found some similar small, cheap surge strips in Home Depot earlier. They're no-name brand and don't have USB-C, but another option for cheap power strips with USB-A ports. Those were $10 for a 2-pack. Added a post here …
