Depends what you want to accomplish. For movies, music in big room - Bro3, for NF use LN.
Why?
get a $400 denon receiver when on a super sale, and a pair of $100 good value speakers for now, then get on a polk or klips speaker deal on SD when you are ready to upgrade speakers.
There is no easier path than that.

I paired these speakers with a WiiM mini streamer. I'm using the DAC built in to the speakers, but I do have the flexibility of adding a DAC in the future.
I would definitely say that if you have the space, go with a good quality receiver or integrated amplifier and pair it with some passive speakers. In the situations you can't, and have a budget of under $500, these speakers and the Klipsch Fives are a good option. Above $500, you can move into active speakers, which will have some sonic and tuning advantages. These speakers are not active, they are powered: I.e. they have a single amplifier with a crossover to split to the tweeter and the woofer.

The fact that the internals of a reciever are much huger than the internals of a sound bar should be a major clue to people they aren't in the same league.
