great price. this is a good tent for casual campers.

in before the hardcore campers who camp in the snow and rain and extreme conditions start saying this is crap

This can comfortably fit 5-6 with room for your crap. The rule of halfing the advertised person always works with tents.

You can certainly fit 11 but its like really sardines style

they do but ceiling is still vented, and doesnt have a zip up to seal. Only the rain fly over it but thats not really closing it up like the windows

So this wouldn't hold up well in any kind of rain? Not necessarily a thunderstorm but not light either. Just a potential steady rainfall.

For a Benji I say you fashion a tarp to it and you're good

lol yes it will hold up just fine. As with all tents you should use some tent waterproofing spray, double coat on seams, use a tarp footprint underneath, and make sure it is staked down correctly and use the guylines to ensure it is "tight" even if not expecting high wind. Don't have anything inside touching the walls. You will be nice and dry inside even in a torrential downpour.

Why would you say that? It has a full rain fly on the roof. With the venting under, it will let out moisture and dampness but still be protected from rain. But it's not a winter tent.

I would spray it with waterproof and expect to stay dry. This works well: https://www.walmart.com/ip/V-I-P-...s/52130847

Good luck!

It is very easy to set up, but the claims of being able to do it in 5 minutes is exaggerated in my opinion.

We had this tent and I would generally recommend it, but we have since moved on. It's BIG and it doesn't deal with moisture all too well (mostly around the front door and the back room). It didn't fit our use case (NH White Mountain campgrounds) as well as two 6-person tents. That, and the easy-up cabin type are much quicker to set up.

This is all great advice but where would I find a more detailed set of instructions to do it as I'm new to camping haha

11 person really means 5 to 6 comfortably - Perfect for a family though

We use ours for our 4th of July Party when we have friends come over for a camp out and if we decided to go camping some where else. Other than that its a nice size for a great price.

Tent spray can be found at most any store that sells sporting goods (Walmart, Cabela's, etc). Spray the whole tent like you are spray painting it. Then after it dries put another coat on all seams.

Buy a heavy duty tarp that is about the same size as the tent footprint and put it under the tent when you pitch it. It will prevent rips and tears in the floor and will help with waterproofing.

Stake the tent down. Start with one corner and and move around to each corner staking them down in turn. Then stake the middle/center ones. Rubber mallet is cheap and helpful for this.

Finally, there are lines/ropes called guylines that are attached to the tent that you stake down as well. This keeps the sides/top tight and allows more water/rain to run off, and prevents your tent from blowing away if there is a lot of wind. Do this step even if not expecting high wind/rain, as you never know.

Don't let stuff touch the interior, as that allows moisture that is on the inside to drip down.

I feel like Mr Anderson. I have to check out this tent spray. I must've missed the memo.
