great price. this is a good tent for casual campers.

in before the hardcore campers who camp in the snow and rain and extreme conditions start saying this is crap

This can comfortably fit 5-6 with room for your crap. The rule of halfing the advertised person always works with tents.

You can certainly fit 11 but its like really sardines style

Tent spray can be found at most any store that sells sporting goods (Walmart, Cabela's, etc). Spray the whole tent like you are spray painting it. Then after it dries put another coat on all seams.

Buy a heavy duty tarp that is about the same size as the tent footprint and put it under the tent when you pitch it. It will prevent rips and tears in the floor and will help with waterproofing.

Stake the tent down. Start with one corner and and move around to each corner staking them down in turn. Then stake the middle/center ones. Rubber mallet is cheap and helpful for this.

Finally, there are lines/ropes called guylines that are attached to the tent that you stake down as well. This keeps the sides/top tight and allows more water/rain to run off, and prevents your tent from blowing away if there is a lot of wind. Do this step even if not expecting high wind/rain, as you never know.

Don't let stuff touch the interior, as that allows moisture that is on the inside to drip down.

I feel like Mr Anderson. I have to check out this tent spray. I must've missed the memo.
Can get this or something like it at every sporting goods store/section. Even Coleman makes their own I think.

So this wouldn't hold up well in any kind of rain? Not necessarily a thunderstorm but not light either. Just a potential steady rainfall.
Holds up fine in light rain. I've used it during a tropical depression but I had to cover it with a tarp.

Got one last time it was $99.

Used it twice on very rainy scout camping trips.
Kept us perfectly dry.

The "front porch" cover is nice in the rain. So you can unzip doors without rushing.

It's huge! The Scouts called it the party tent.

All packed up it's heavy and big in the bag.
Awkward to carry.
Better to use a wagon or cart to move around.
Setup takes 5 minutes after some practice by myself.
Unfolds like a blooming flower.

I've been casually looking at tents for a few weeks now and I've learned one thing, people are very opinionated when it comes to tents. I read a few glowing opinions and get ready to bite and then I read a few awful ones.

How can we trust tent reviews with such drastically different opinions lol

Why would you say that? It has a full rain fly on the roof. With the venting under, it will let out moisture and dampness but still be protected from rain. But it's not a winter tent.

I would spray it with waterproof and expect to stay dry. This works well: https://www.walmart.com/ip/V-I-P-...s/52130847

Good luck!
I actually unfortunately had the experience of living in one over the winter in Utah actually and survived. The ventilation in the top was actually perfect to be able to run a propane heater without dying of carbon monoxide poisoning. But no without a heater it's definitely not great for winter usage.

Looks like this could work well as a spray paint booth for larger projects.

Kids always want to camp out in the backyard. For 100 bucks, I'd say it's worth it.

Debating between this one or the 10-person dark rest deal. I've got two young kids (2 and 2 months), wondering how much the "dark rest" feature will help vs. having a third room for the toddler. Thoughts?
