I find the magnetic version to be a cleaner look. But think the velcro one linked has a better hold.

I own both and each work, so that's pretty much what we care about

There are a lot of reviews indicating the reusable adhesive isn't very reliable. I really like Anker but I'm a little hesitant on this one.

Good price but these are junky. The magnetic ones aren't much better. Anker screwed the pooch on their accessories.

Have both too but magnets get misaligned easily and can't pull the cords well with the magnet one.

How does this compare to the plastic/silicone style that just have the slots for cables?

Why not get the actual Velcro brand and you get a 100 pack? Instead of $.50 a piece it's $.08.

Seems like the cool factor here is that it has a base that you adhere to a surface so the cable ties stick to it. Not really sold on it personally versus plain cable ties but I'm sure someone out there will like it.

If you have a 3D printer, there are several things like this on Thingiverse that you can print for pennies and slap on any surface with an adhesive strip or double sided tape. No Velcro, of course, but they hold cables in place just fine.

I've used this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5340635

I haven't used this but it slides on a desk edge so you don't even need adhesive, and there is a scad file if you want to customize it: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:145187
