VA panel will get you darker blacks, so if you plan to game at night in a dark room a VA panel may be better.
IPS panel will give you better viewing angles and richer colors, so if you plan to play local co-op or with the lights on, an IPS panel may be better.
Monitors in this price range, regardless of panel, have mediocre HDR performance - like entry-level budget TV HDR. They don't get that bright, they lack local dimming for better contrast, and the colors aren't that rich and vibrant. Unfortunately, you don't get good HDR performance in monitors until you're spending what feels like way too much on a monitor.
Consoles can't take advantage of ultra-wide screens, so a monitor wider than 16:9 will have black bars on the sides.

Hard to tell without seeing them side by side but the specs are similar so not sure why you'd spend more on the Dell. Even though the LG says QHD, the resolution is stating 3440x1440. Says that in the LG website too.

Thanks, was looking all over for that info. Too bad it's not Nano IPS. Deal killer for me but possible good deal for others.

It's still great for office work. Ips vs VA is my personal preference. When it comes to gaming, the only time I'd ever buy a VA panel is if it's Samsungs Neo QLED. It's the closest thing to a gaming IPS screen.
Thanks just got 32" LG VA 165hz for 241.99 @ Amazon... But yes, IPS vs VA was a headache, mainly because had many time without a Desktop PC.
$200 at Walmart. It looks like the same thing.
Whoops. 32"
