I wear either the Kayano or a NovaBlast for 12 hour shifts. I Have to wear a custom insole with the Novablast.
Which one do you think is better novablast or gel kyano

Its YMMV depending on the Amex card you have plus if it reaches a certain amount of redemption it wont be available for anyone.

I have 3 cards all under my name/SS so I pick the offers I want to my primary card that I want to use and then the rest to the least used card as it clutters the offers page in Amex. I load the un-needed ones to that card using a Java Script trick so I dont have to sit and add 100s of offers as Amex thinks we are drunks with 1000s of wine offers. I run the Java thingy twice a week.

I fell in love with the Nimbus 15s and 17s back in the day, less for a pure running shoe and more for a hybrid shoe for fitness and vacations or other situations where I knew I'd be walking several miles on concrete or other hard surfaces. My running was minimal (<10mi a week). I play competitive field sports, so I usually do sprints and footwork drills for cardio instead of steady long distance.

When my 17s started to wear out, I tried the 19s and 20s, but sent them back immediately. The toe boxes were so cramped that it was obvious I'd get hotspots from just walking around. I switched to Adidas Ultraboost, and they were OK (again, I'm not running marathons or even 10Ks).

After seeing a BF deal, I read some reviews on the Nimbus 23s, and they all reported the toe box issues were fixed. Figured it was worth trying, so I got a pair in Sheet Rock/Black for $70. I've worn them to the gym a few times, and the fit/comfort seems to be back to the old ways. Very cushioned, very soft, room for my toes. They are definitely chunky, but I don't care about looks at the gym or on runs.

Not saying these are the best running shoes, just that those who liked the old versions of the Nimbus and have been turned off by more recent ones may take another look.

Does Kayano not have foam?

I'd stay away from gel shoes - old tech. Foam or bust. The Hoka Mach 4 is stellar and usually on sale for around $70 - currently $90 on https://runrepeat.com/hoka-mach-4 . BTW Run Repeat is the hands down best place to find shoes on sale with reviews. Only place to shop and research other than https://www.youtube.com/@SethJamesDeMoor
Why do you think gel is older tech? Kayano wouldn't be a flagship shoe for decades if it were continue to use older tech..

Ordered the Cumulus-23 for $53.97 after 40% off with code SAVINGS. The Cumulus-22 has lasted for a while for me with a weekly mileage of 25 miles.

Great deal on Kayanos. Don't find them this low very often. I'm on my 4th pair right now. This will be my 5th. Excited to try the 28s. I get about 400 miles out of these before the treads are pretty worn on my midfoot. The back heal flap collapses somewhat easily but I also put them on irresponsibly. I think they provide mild stability. Too much and your foot will never fix itself and may lead to weaker feet. Don't fall for the feet inserts they sell at the shoe store. Those are just an expensive up-sell IMO. Your shoes should do the correction work. My two cents.

I was using Kayanos for a while before I switched to ultraboost last 5ish years. Nothing wrong with asics but I love UB's light + cushion + flexible + style combo.
Got the Nimbus 22 last year to try Nimbus and Asics again. It's great but heavy compared to UB'S. Much more support and is a different type of shoe vs UB (running shoes with necessary support vs walking shoe with good sneaker style).

This BF I got Nimbus lite 2 since they promise to be Nimbus but lighter. We'll see how that works out, but I'm looking for a sale on Nimbus 24 to try that new FF blast foam. It's supposed to be even more cushioned, springy, and lighter.

All the new models have FF Blast or some variation of that type of foam. They are still good shoes, but depends on what type of feel you want when you run.

For me, just keeps taking the Promo Code entry - but then listing it as "Not Applied". Tried both Legend and Savings. Am I being thick about something?

The Hoka Mach 4 are one of the best top notch running shoes you'll get for under $90 shipped.

I have many different shoes for different running days, races etc and once you've ran in Mach 4s it's a very hard shoe to find a fault with.

Exceptional running shoe; whether you want a daily shoe for comfort, casual running, training, or race day its a terrific choice.

If you want a tempo shoe or one to help you with speed improvement; the Saucony Speed 2 are stellar and very little has changed in the speed 3s. You can get them for $80 right now as well.
