Normally rewards are a 10% bonus but until 12/30/2022, you can get 20% off your gift card (which is 25% added value to the card). So in other words, you can get a $100 GameStop Gift Card for just $80 of your Cashback Rewards. Lowest card value is $15, highest is $200 but you can get multiple ones.
Flip this however you want:
- Effectively get 20% off eShop, PSN, Xbox cards
- Wait for good deals and pay with this to effectively get 20% off
- Buy some overpriced regular items and effectively get 20% off to make them almost normal price.
The possibilities are limitless. Well, as limitless as their stock in your store....

I'm also a GameStop pro members so I can use my $5 monthly reward for an eShop card. It's essentially a pay $20 for a $60 game yearly
..or do you literally have to use the full $80 in rewards to get the discount?

I think it's actually using $80 of your discover bonus towards the card and not like that Amex Amazon bonus you're referring to. I can't do it because I already redeemed my cash back a few days ago as statement credit
Why statement credit? That gives back the least value. There's so many gift card choices from Macys to Apple etc
This is usually the case for most Discover gift cards purchased with cash back.

$160 is 80% of $200.
200 * 0.8 = 160
But...
$200 is also 25% more than $160.
160 * (1 + 0.25) = 200
So saying you are getting a 20% discount on $200 or that you are getting 25% added value on $160 are both correct.
Math.
200 * (1 - 0.2) = 160

160 * (1 + 0.25) = 200

Lol...thanks for that explanation followed by one word. Sass
I can verify that you can buy Xbox gift cards 20% off via this deal.
Besides this promo do they always offer a lot more on gift cards throughout the year ?
